Wendy's Walk
The Wendy O. Ward Foundation was founded in 2014. As one of its primary missions, the Foundation and its volunteers will plan and coordinate a yearly charitable event called “Wendy’s Walk” in memory of Wendy. The purpose of the event is to gather in Wendy’s memory and celebrate her life, especially for her two kids, Leo and Jack, now ages 18 and 15. Wendy was a person who touched so many lives with her love, laughter and energy. With her life cut short, Wendy deserves to be celebrated and Jack and Leo deserve to see firsthand the impact their mommy had on so many lives.
Wendy’s Walk 2023 — A Huge Success!
Friends, family and more gathered together again at the eight annual Wendy’s Walk which took place on June 24, 2023 at the Columbus Park of Roses. Over 150 people attended and participated in the event the included music, games, crafts, dinner, beverages and a walk around the beautiful Park of Roses together in memory of Wendy. Donations from individuals and corporations before, at and after the event reached almost $11,000! The Foundation is grateful to all those who came out to Wendy’s Walk and especially all those who helped make the event possible and such a success.
At Wendy’s Walk, Bill Jelinek Photography again graciously donated photography services at the Walk and captures some amazing moments. Bill’s photos are available to view here on the Foundation’s website as well as on the Facebook page. Several companies joined again in donating to the Foundation and Wendy’s Walk - through monetary or in-kind contributions - making the event possible. Wendy’s Walk 2023 contributors included Stand Energy Corporation and Altenau Financial. Special thanks to Andy Limbert and Resonant Interactive for the continued generous in-kind web and technical services. All contributions received have and will be used for the costs of the 2023 Wendy’s Walk, the costs of future Wendy’s Walk events and most importantly toward the establishment of the annual Wendy O. Ward Memorial Scholarship.
